Description and is it worth visiting
In Kuala Lumpur, there are two Little India areas. One is in the tourist Golden Triangle area (city center), near the popular Chinatown district (you can read about the other Little India here).
Little India in the Brickfields area is larger and, in our opinion, more interesting. It's a lively neighborhood where Indian music constantly plays, spices and fabrics are sold, and the smell of curry fills the air. Basically, it all comes down to a walk along the main street, Jalan Tun Sambanthan, and the surrounding alleys.
We wouldn't say this is a must-see destination above all others. But if you've already seen the Petronas Towers, Chinatown, and the National Mosque, it's worth coming here for an hour or two. The street isn't pedestrian-only, but the sidewalks are surprisingly wide — comfortable for walking, which is rare for Kuala Lumpur. You can try on a sari, buy Indian sweets, or just observe local life.
No problem finding food: restaurants and cafes with South Indian cuisine are everywhere. Many people praise the banana leaf meals, biryani rice, and masala tea. Street stalls are piled high with sweets — be sure to try the local mithai. For reference: lunch will cost 20–40 ringgit (5.06 USD).
To get a better feel for the area's atmosphere, you can also watch our video walk through Brickfields — it conveys the sounds and flavor much more vividly than photos.

🚶 How to get there
Little India is located in the Brickfields area, next to the main transport hub KL Sentral (Little India on the map). You can get to KL Sentral by any metro (LRT, MRT, KTM) or even by train from the airport. From the station, it's a 5–7 minute walk to the start of Jalan Tun Sambanthan street. A taxi from the city center via Grab or Maxim will cost from 10 ringgit (2.53 USD).
