Red Cave (also "Dogwood-Koba") it is known as the longest of the explored caves of the Crimea to date. The length of only the studied part of it is more than 21 kilometers, and it has not yet been fully studied. This length was obtained as a result of the merger of several caves into a whole complex, numbering 6 floors and including many halls, galleries and Wells. The length of some halls reaches 80 meters, and the height of 30 meters. The cave got its name from the rock of red limestones in which it was formed. At the bottom of the cave is the stream Su-Uchhan, forming a series of lakes and waterfalls. Some of the lakes are quite large and reach 100 meters in length. At the end of the cave, the stream comes out of the mountain, forming a few hundred meters from the entrance to the cave waterfall Su-Wuchang height of 30 meters. As a rule, visiting the waterfall and caves are combined.
The Red Cave is equipped for tourist visits, and there is also an extreme route with special equipment along the underground river.
Tourist route (main route) equipped with paths, railings, Bridges, has a length of 500 meters, in time 1 hour. The visit is accompanied by a guide (included in the price of the visit) in groups that are recruited at the entrance to the cave. You can not go into the caves yourself. The cost of the main route is 400 rubles.
Extreme route it takes place in a part of the cave that is inaccessible without special equipment. Those wishing to go on an extreme tour are given a special wetsuit to move along the underwater river, the tour itself is guided by experienced rescue instructors. The cost of the tour is 4000 rubles per person (route "waterfall of pink jets"), and 6000 rubles (route "Fork"). The time spent is 4-6 hours. Tips for visiting: The temperature Underground is low, stable at +10℃. It seems warm, but you can get very cold during a long walk, so be sure to dress warmly, including wearing warm shoes or socks. At the entrance to the cave, jackets are offered for rent for 10 rubles.
Also not far from the cave and the waterfall is the landscape Recreation Park "Fairy Valley", through which the trail leads to the entrance to the caves and to the waterfall. 🚶 How to get there
Red Cave is located between Simferopol and Alushta near the village of Perevalnoye (Red Cave on the map. It is most convenient to get here with a tour, which are sold at all resorts.
You can also get to the Red Cave and the waterfall yourself, but public transport does not go directly to the place. You will first have to take a bus to the village of Perevalnoye (stop "S. Perevalnoye 2" right on the highway between Alushta and Simferopol). There goes all the transport from Simferopol in the direction of Alushta, and vice versa. These are intercity and suburban buses, trolleybuses No. 51, 54, 55. The cost is around 80 rubles.
