The resorts of Popovka and Mirny are located 30 kilometers north of Yevpatoria (Popovka and Mirny on the map of Crimea), and therefore all roads and transport lead here through Yevpatoria. To begin with, here is a brief description of the ways to get to Popovka and Mirny:

• By plane to Simferopol airport, and from there by taxi, the only direct bus or buses with transfers in Yevpatoria or Simferopol.
• By train to Simferopol or Yevpatoria railway station, and then walk to the bus station and take a bus, or take a taxi.
• By bus from Simferopol or Evpatoria, as well as from other places in Crimea with transfers through these cities.
• by car across the Crimean Bridge and further along the route through Simferopol and Yevpatoria (this is the shortest and best route), or along the southern coast of Crimea through Koktebel, Sudak, Alushta, Yalta (this is a picturesque route, but much longer and may require an additional overnight stay along the way).

And now in detail about each of the ways, how and what to get with the schedule and cost of transport:

By bus

As already mentioned, the bus is the only public transport on which you can get directly to Mirny and Popovka. Therefore, if you really need to save money and if you are traveling alone, you can get from the airport and railway station by bus. If you are going on vacation with a group or family of three or more people, then there is no great sense in buses, since such a trip will be only slightly cheaper, or even more expensive than a taxi.

You can get here by bus from Evpatoria, from Simferopol from the bus station "Resort" (aka Simferopol AC-2) near the railway station, from the airport of Acropolis and from the bus station "Northern" in Sevastopol. From Evpatoria, buses run every 30-60 minutes, and these can be old suburban buses of Route No. 20, and there are newer ones, tickets for which must be bought at The Ticket Office of the Evpatoria bus station. All of them depart from the bus station of Yevpatoria and pass along Korolenko and Chapaev streets, where they can also be boarded. In other directions, buses run only 1-2 times a day according to the schedule. So if there is no bus suitable for you on the schedule, we advise you to go with a transfer through Yevpatoria.

There is no full-fledged bus station in Mirny and Popovka, and all buses stop near the old ticket booth on the main road along Syrnikova street, 25-B (bus station (on the map). This road is a conditional border between Mirny and Popovka, and therefore from here you can get to the place of rest in both villages on foot or by local private taxi from 100 rubles.

By plane

While only flights from Russian cities are operated to Simferopol airport, there are no international flights. You can fly here from Moscow and most major regions. How to get from the airport to Popovka and Mirny

Getting from the airport is best by taxi or rented car, since direct buses run only 1-2 times a day. In addition, a trip by bus with a group or family will eventually cost almost the same price as a taxi.

• Taxi

  In Crimea, because of the sanctions, taxi aggregators and BlaBlaCar travel search applications do not work, and therefore the car will have to be ordered on the spot at the counter (expensive), or hiccup the driver and bargain in the airport parking lot. What is convenient, in high season private drivers work on minibuses, and they collect several passengers at once, so that they can leave cheaper. True, you will have to wait a little until you get the required number of passengers. On average, you should expect to pay for a car about 2000 rubles (after bargaining), or from 800 rubles per person when traveling with fellow travelers.

• Bus

  If you really need to save money and you are ready to go by bus, then there are two options:

  • Take a direct bus to Mirny, which departs 1-2 times a day directly from the airport bus station. This is a passing route from Simferopol to Novoozernoye with a stop in Mirny, travel costs from 300 rubles, 2.5 hours on the way.   • If you do not get on a direct bus, then you can take the nearest flight to Yevpatoria (depart approximately every 30 minutes, from 200 USD), and upon arrival in Yevpatoria at the bus station, transfer to a suburban bus or taxi to Mirny for 250 rubles.

By train

Due to Western sanctions against the peninsula, the Russian carrier Russian Railways does not operate flights to the Crimea, and therefore you will have to search and book tickets not on the Russian Railways website, but on the carrier's website Grand service Express.

The nearest railway station to Mirny and Popovka is in Yevpatoria, just half an hour away by taxi or bus. But, unfortunately, it can be reached by long-distance trains only from Moscow, St. Petersburg and cities along the way. Therefore, if there are no trains from your city to Yevpatoria, you will have to go to Simferopol, and there change to a bus, taxi, or go to Yevpatoria by train with a transfer there by taxi or bus. • Through Evpatoria

  Yevpatoria railway station is a 5-minute walk from the local bus station. There you can take a suburban bus to Mirny, which departs every 30-60 minutes, the cost of 60 rubles. You can take a taxi for 350 rubles after bargaining.

• Via Simferopol

  A taxi from the railway station will cost from 2000 rubles, to go a little more than two hours. Cheaper can be reached by direct buses or with transfers:

  Near the railway station of Simferopol is the bus station "resort", it is Simferopol AC-2. From Kurortnaya once or twice a day, depending on the season, a direct bus starts to Novoozernoye via Mirny. Travel costs from 300 rubles, go 3 hours. If you do not get on a direct flight, then take the nearest bus to Yevpatoria, and there at the bus station change to a local suburban bus from 60 rubles, or a taxi for 350.

  Well, another alternative option is to take the train to Evpatoria in Simferopol, and from there again by taxi or local bus. This method is good because the trains are cheaper than the bus, only 128 rubles, and go faster.

By car

After entering the peninsula on the Crimean Bridge to Popovka and Mirny can be reached by two routes:

• Via Simferopol and Yevpatoria. This is a route along the New excellent Tavrida highway with a length of 310 kilometers, which, with a good situation on the roads near Simferopol, can be overcome in 4 hours. Along the way there are stops for Rest, new network gas stations. After Evpatoria, the road becomes worse, but only 30 kilometers will remain on it.
• Along the Southern Railway through Koktebel, Sudak, Alushta, and then through Simferopol or Sevastopol. This route is longer by 100 kilometers, but is considered very picturesque, as it runs along the coast along serpentines. But to drive it, you will need almost a full day of light, and perhaps even an overnight stay along the way. Therefore, we recommend it only if you want to travel around the peninsula and visit other resorts and places along the way.

There are no gas stations in Popovka and Mirny, the nearest ones are only in Yevpatoria. And don't look at Old non-official maps and guidebooks that have a TES gas station on the outskirts, in fact there isn't one. In Yevpatoria, we recommend refueling on Atan, Vesta, T-neft, Formula, Tobi, CRS, Redpetrol. Gasoline and diesel here are i.e. about 5% higher than on the "mainland", so there is a sense to fill a full tank before entering the bridge. At most gas stations, you can pay in cash and by bank card without Commission.

With parking for short or long term in the villages there are no difficulties, there is enough space. Some accommodation options offer parking in the courtyard or next to the street. In general, the places here are quiet and calm, and problems with the safety of cars usually do not arise. The only thing that should be taken into account is that in Popovka most of the streets are primers. In dry weather, they are very dusty, and in the rains they are strongly eroded in places.

How to get from Evpatoria

If you are already on vacation in Yevpatoria and want to visit the beaches of Popovka, it is best to take a taxi. Since applications of aggregators such as Yandex.Taxi, Uber and all the others do not work in Crimea due to sanctions, you can order a car by phone from local taxi companies or just catch it on the street. A taxi ride from Yevpatoria to Popovka and Mirny or back in one direction will cost from 350 rubles, and will depend on the time of day and your ability to bargain if you catch a car on the street. You can ask the driver to drive directly to Popovka beach, but then the price will be slightly higher. If you need to save money, it is better to get to the common center of these resorts, which is located on Syrnikova Street near the bus station and shops. There is also a parking lot of taxi drivers who are on duty waiting for passengers. The beach is a 20-minute walk away.

A more budget option is local suburban and passing intercity buses. Unfortunately, they all depart from the bus station of Yevpatoria, which is far from the beaches and the main tourist area of Yevpatoria. Buses from the bus station depart during the day every 30-60 minutes, 30 minutes on the way, travel from 60 rubles.
