How to get from the airport to Izberbash

Uytash Airport is located 40 kilometers from Izberbash (airport on the map), it's a little less than an hour by taxi. There is no direct public transport from the airport to Izberbash. Theoretically, you can get there with a transfer through Makhachkala: by city bus No. 198 (100 USD) –> and there transfer to the train or bus to Izberbash. But in reality, this route will just be a waste of time, because you will have to make a considerable detour.

Given this situation, you can get from the airport to Izberbash directly only by taxi. If you order a car through the Yandex or Uber apps, the trip will cost from 1300 rubles. In bad weather and with traffic jams, the price may rise due to the dynamic pricing of aggregators. In such cases, you can negotiate a trip at a fixed price with drivers in the parking lot and in the terminal, the real price is no more than 1500 rubles, you need to bargain.

In addition to taxis, there is a theoretical possibility to get from the airport a little cheaper with transfers by public transport. We didn't go that way ourselves, but we dealt with this issue closely, so we'll tell you. To do this, first take a taxi to the nearest railway station "2307 km Uytash", it is located 7 kilometers away, the trip will cost from 200 rubles. At the station you can take the Makhachkala-Izberbash train, but you will have to adjust to its schedule, because it runs only 2-4 times a day. Travel by train costs from 45 rubles. Another option is to take a taxi to the bus stop on the highway next to this station, and catch a passing bus from Makhachkala to Izberbash there, it will cost about 100 rubles.

But do not forget that by train or bus you will arrive in the city center, and not in the resort area, from where you will again have to take a taxi to the place of rest (about 200 USD). So all these "problems" with public transport, in our opinion, are not worth it, and it is better to order a taxi or a ready transfer.

By train to Izberbash

You can get to Izberbash by train at least from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tyumen (via Ekb, Chelyabinsk, Ufa, Samara, Saratov), as well as by train from Makhachkala and Derbent. Long-distance trains do not run every day, so check the schedule.

The railway station in Izberbash is located on the southern tip of the city at (station on the map). From it to the place of rest in the resort area along the coast will have to get by taxi, because there is no city bus going there. It is better to use a taxi order through the Yandex or Anzhi taxi apps, because local private bombers ask for more. A trip on Yandex will cost around 200 rubles. If you have booked accommodation in the center in a residential area, then you can take city minibuses No. 3 or 4 from 25 rubles.

In addition to the main station, in Izberbash there is another railway stop "2341 kilometer" at the other end of the city (stop on the map). Only trains stop at it, and you can even walk from it to the "Factory beach".

By bus to Izberbash

You can get to Izberbash by bus from almost all major cities and regions of the European part of the Russian Federation. These are mainly passing flights to Derbent, which make a stop in the city for boarding and disembarking passengers. There are flights, at least from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don, Kislovodsk, Essentuki, Krasnodar, Nalchik, Novorossiysk, Sevastopol, Stavropol, Tambov. Izberbasha bus station is conveniently located almost in the city center on Sovetskaya Street (bus station on the map). But just like from the railway station, you will have to take a taxi from 150 rubles to the resort area and hotels on the coast from here.

By car to Izberbash

From Moscow and other regions in the European part of the Russian Federation, you can get to Izberbash by the M4 toll road or by the free M6. Travel on the M4, of course, is more comfortable, but in terms of time and length it is even longer, so there is not much point in driving on the toll road. The main intercity roads in the southern regions of the Russian Federation are mostly good, and Dagestan is no exception. When entering the Republic and when passing through Ingushetia or Chechnya, you will have to pass through roadblocks. Driving through them is nothing complicated, there are no queues there with rare exceptions. It is mandatory to check the documents of the driver and all passengers, additionally transport and luggage can be checked. Be sure to take all the necessary documents in the originals on the trip and do not forget the birth certificates for children.

And now, actually, about Izberbash itself and the movement around the city by car. In our, perhaps subjective opinion, after Makhachkala, the movement along Izberbash seemed to us much more calm and comfortable. Drivers take their time, drive calmly and evenly, almost do not break the rules. You will experience difficulties with traffic, except in the area of the old town and near the fortress. The streets there are narrow, there are many descents and ascents, so it will not be easy to get used to it. There is also little parking space there, and if you decide to park your car somewhere and go for a walk, first look carefully to see if you have blocked someone's passage or blocked the exit from the gate.
