What to Expect and Is It Worth Visiting
In the central part of Derbent you can visit the museum of the history of world cultures and religions. It is small and consists of one hall, which presents objects belonging to different religious movements and their traditions, starting with paganism and ending with the main world religions - Buddhism, Judaism, Orthodoxy and Islam.
Among the exhibits are traditional ritual costumes, books, clothes, household items of the peoples of the Caucasus and archaeological finds. For a more detailed acquaintance with the museum's collection and its themes, it is worth taking an excursion, during which it is suggested to watch the video using VR glasses. Temporary exhibitions are organized on the ground floor of the museum, there is a gift shop.

In 2022, when we visited the museum, it was actually located at a double address at 3 Mira Street/100 Pushkin Street (Museum of the History of World Cultures and Religions on the map). However, now the museum's website has a different address, Tagi-Zade str., 30, however, there is no information about moving the museum to a new address. It is possible that the transfer of the address is connected with the reconstruction, check on the website or by phone.
