What to Expect and Is It Worth Visiting
The museum "Military Glory" in Derbent is a museum dedicated to the memory of Dagestani heroes who fought during the Great Patriotic War, the Afghan and Chechen wars. Like the Museum of Military Glory in Makhachkala, it tells about the exploits of strong and courageous people who gave their strength and lives in the struggle for freedom. The museum was established in 1991. A small museum exposition consists of authentic photographs, documents, awards and personal belongings of the soldiers.
Next to the museum there is a monument to the heroes of the 345th Dagestan Rifle Division, consisting of Ossetians, Dagestanis, Chechens and Russians who participated in the defense of Sevastopol during the Second World War. The museum preserves and supports the memory of the liberators. Therefore, if you are not indifferent, then it is worth visiting this place. And experienced guides will tell you in more detail about the main battles, courage and heroism of people.
