Boracay attractions and entertainment

Directly on the island there are no attractions at all, neither historical nor natural. None at all, unless you consider several natural formations in the form of rocks, an observation deck, inaccessible bat caves, and beaches (but about the beaches of Boracay in detail here...). Nevertheless, you can still see something during your vacation in Boracay. On your own or with an excursion you can go to the Big Island of Panay (Panay), where there are several good natural attractions. On Panay, visit the beautiful diving rock Ariel's Point (tours from 2800 pesos); trekking or day trips to the mountains to waterfalls, caves and springs for swimming (from 2800 pesos); ethnic Museum Motag Living Museum.

The situation is much better with all kinds of tourist activities and entertainment for tourists. Diving, snorkeling, freediving, kitesurfing, parasailing, Island Tours, boat cruises to meet the sunset, windsurfing, kayaking, puddlebot and much more are offered. Relatively recently, surfing began to develop here. Of course, there are spas, massages, fish massage (fish spa), and even helicopter and airplane rides.

These activities and tours can be purchased from hotels and travel agencies, and from distributors on the White Beach footpath (cheaper here). Prices are highly dependent on the number of people in a group on tour or for training sports, but it is always possible to bargain or ask to join another group. The peaceful walking area of White Beach in the evening turns into an evening entertainment area with many bars and discos operating until late at night. It is difficult to recommend any particular institution, there are really a lot of them. Just take a walk in the evening and you will find a place to your liking: to sit and chat with new friends over a beer, have dinner in a restaurant accompanied by live music, dance to modern rhythms in a nightclub until late at night. You can find girls: as soon as a single man appears here, the locals will immediately offer a girl or a boy, who likes what.

Diving and snorkeling

Boracay can not boast of amazing conditions for diving and snorkeling, but for novice divers and inexperienced lovers of swimming with a mask will do.

There are many diving centers here, there are dive hotels. Diving near the shore will be interesting only for students, if you are an experienced diver-then only from the boat. The price for a one-day boat tour with two dives is from 2500 if you have a certificate, and from 3500 pesos without a certificate. You can also complete training and obtain a PADI certificate.

Snorkeling can be done on your own off the coast, or join a group boat tour to the nearest Islands. For independent snorkeling, you can rent a mask and tube in one of the dive shops on the beaches for 100 pesos, and swim on any of the beaches. You will not see anything special near the shores under water, everything is destroyed by man, but if you get out from White Beach to rocky beaches, you have a chance to look at colored fish, sea urchins, corals. You can try the northern part Hagdan Beach, the northern beach Ilig Iligan Beach and a small island in its water area, the southern part Bulabog Beach near Bulabog rock.

Willy's rock

Willie's rock or Boracay's Grotto is just a picturesque rock in the water at White Beach, and a place to take pictures. It is easy to get to it from the shore knee-deep or waist-deep in water (depending on the tide).

Observation deck on Mount luho / Mount Luho

The highest point on Boracay, from where in good weather you can see the panorama of the whole island. It is best to meet the dawn or sunset here. In fact, there are three observation decks, one of them is new built in the form of a tower, it is best to immediately go to it.

Mangroves / Boracay Mangroves

This place is also known as the Dead forest. In fact, this is just a small park of mangroves, the likes of which are in almost every resort in the Philippines. You can come for a walk for 5 minutes along the paths equipped over the bushes, and nothing more. If you have been to such places before, then you should not go or go here, only if you drop by in passing.

Theme park and Museum of illusions / Dream Land Theme Park and Trick Art Museum

A place that will appeal only to lovers of taking selfies, well, or if there is nothing to do at all, but you want to take a walk somewhere. Inside the museum there are a dozen traditional 3D paintings for photographing, on the street there are several figures of fairy-tale characters, peacocks in a cage and a couple of children's attractions. Looks somewhat neglected.

Ethnic village Ati Tribe Village

The village where the families of the surviving ethnic tribes who lived on the island gathered, and now they live here. As far as this corresponds to reality, we do not know, but in fact it is about 20 old wooden houses, where tourists are taken to get acquainted with the traditional life and history of the island. Everything is traditionally organized very poorly and immature (common in the Philippines), but if you have nothing to do and want to learn something new, you can visit.
