The route from Moalboal to Bohol or Panglao Island is not very simple, there is no direct route, you will have to travel with transfers and changes of transport. The journey will take almost the whole day. There are two options:

  • Via Oslob

This option is suitable if you need to get to Panglao and Alona Beach, but it is not very suitable for Bohol and will be more expensive than the other route.

First, you need to get to Oslob from Moalboal. You can take a taxi from 3000 pesos or buses with a transfer through Bato, we described this in more detail here - https://nashaplaneta.net/asia/philippines/cebu-ostrov-oslob#moalboaltooslob

Next, a fast catamaran runs between Oslob town and Panglao Island, twice a day, but the schedule may change, check before the trip on the carrier's website https://apekoptravel.com/Tickets. The ticket costs 1000 pesos, it is better to book in advance. You will arrive in Panglao at Momo Beach, from where you can only get to the resort area of Alona Beach by taxi. To Bohol from Panglao you can get by road via the bridge, again by taxi, tricycle or rented transport, the journey is not short and not cheap.

  • Via Cebu

From Moalboal, first you need to get to Cebu. Intercity buses run from here, but not from the resort area of Moalboal, but from the main highway. We have already described this route in a separate guide, we will not repeat ourselves here, read - https://nashaplaneta.net/asia/philippines/cebu-moalboal-kak-dobratsa#fromcebu

In Cebu, you will arrive at the southern bus station, from where you need to move to the Cebu pier. You can even walk (1.5 kilometers) or take a taxi, tricycle. From Cebu port, ferries run on schedule to Tagbilaran port on Bohol Island. You can buy tickets on the spot at the port. Then from Tagbilaran port by taxi, tricycles you can go either further along Bohol or to Panglao via the bridge. Here at the port you can also rent a motorbike or car. We also have a separate instruction about the transfer from Cebu to Bohol, everything is there - https://nashaplaneta.net/asia/philippines/bohol-ostrov-kak-dobratsa#tagbilaranferry
