You can get from Moalboal to Oslob independently using public transport with one transfer. Here is the route:

  1. Get from Moalboal beach to the main road (Highway). The easiest way is to take a tricycle, the ride will cost about 50 pesos.
  2. Take a bus heading south towards Bato city. Buses run every 20 minutes. The journey takes about 1-1.5 hours. Cost is approximately 150 pesos.
  3. Get off at the final bus station in Bato city.
  4. Make a transfer. From here, you need to take:
    • either a bus to Cebu that passes through Oslob (check the route!),
    • or a tricycle directly to Tan-awan village (the whale shark swimming spot).
  5. Get to Tan-awan village. By bus, it takes about 30 minutes, cost from 60 pesos. By tricycle, it's a negotiable price.

Total travel time: about 3 hours, not including waiting for transport. It's important to leave very early

Alternative: Book a ready-made tour in Moalboal or hire a private car. A round trip by car will cost approximately from 3000 pesos. Taxi apps (like Grab) usually do not operate on this route.
