Article and Section Navigation

Description and Is it Worth Visiting

Cantabon Cave is the most popular and visited cave on Sikihore, and a real pride of the island that is definitely worth a visit. Unlike underground river and Sambulawan cave, here you do not have to swim along the river, and there are no animals inside, but Cantabon has a length of as much as 800 meters, and is filled with bizarre stalactites and stalagmites. It is through, and you will have to overcome it from end to end, which will take almost 2 hours, and sometimes even 3. from the very beginning, after entering, you will have to overcome a very narrow space, and then it will be easier, although you should not think that this is an easy walk. You will have to go on a slippery clay surface, waist and knee in water, bending down hard.

To visit the Cantabon, you must be accompanied by a guide, who stands out when paying for the entrance, and there is also a helmet and a flashlight. It is best to bring an additional bright flashlight for video or photography, a waterproof camera or smartphone case, and a waterproof case for valuables, although you can leave them under supervision in the office if you wish. It is best to wear a bathing suit (warm inside), or a change of shorts with a T-shirt, because you are guaranteed to get dirty. Also very desirable are shoes that do not mind getting wet in water, coral slippers are perfect.
