Description and is it worth a visit
Lake Balanan (Lake Balanan, also Balenen), in our opinion (the authors of the site), much more beautiful and interesting than the famous Twin Lakes Twin Lake, but little known and rarely visited by tourists. The reason for this is most likely the distance from Dumaguete and other resorts Negros islands, and a very bad road to it. But if you have enough time, we recommend visiting it for a whole day or half a day to relax and have fun. You can even stay here for the night in a guest house or camping with your tent. And to come here for a few minutes just to look at it and take a selfie, perhaps not worth it: too long and difficult road.
Lake Balanan can be called an eco-park with tourist activities, and at very low prices. It is surrounded by a walking hiking trail that leads to a campsite (150 pesos / night), to several interesting natural formations, a tree house. On the lake itself you can ride a rented boat (200 pesos/Hour), Catamaran (100 pesos/hour), houseboat (150 pesos/hour). There is also a zipline (150 pesos), picnic gazebos (50 pesos/day). There is also free use of a swimming pool with amazingly clear water, a changing room and toilets, and a ferry between two marinas to travel part of the way along the trail around the lake.

🚶 How to get there
The lake is located 60 kilometers from Dumaguete (Lake on the map). Most of the way is on an excellent asphalt road, but the last 11 kilometers are a real road hell. Here, a more or less normal asphalt road in places abruptly breaks into a rocky primer, there are large pits, huge puddles and mud after rains. You can drive a motorcycle and any car, but to overcome these 11 kilometers, it will take 30-60 minutes. They pass through villages and beautiful rice fields with stunning views of the mountains, so you still have to make a few stops to enjoy them and take photos.
