You can get a free Sinai stamp only at entry points located directly on the Sinai Peninsula. The main places:

  1. Sharm El-Sheikh Airport (SSH). This is the most popular and busy point for tourists flying to Sinai resorts.
  2. Nuweiba Airport. Fewer flights arrive here, mostly charters.
  3. Nuweiba Sea Port. The stamp is placed upon arrival by ferry, for example, from Jordan (Aqaba).
  4. Taba Land Border Crossing. This is the only point where the Sinai stamp is placed when entering Egypt from Israel. Important: when entering through Taba, all tourists, regardless of citizenship, receive only the Sinai stamp, even if they have a pre-arranged Egyptian visa.

Key limitation: The Sinai stamp cannot be obtained at airports in mainland Egypt β€” in Cairo (CAI), Hurghada (HRG), or Luxor (LXR). When flying there, you must either have a pre-arranged visa or buy one upon arrival for $25.

When planning your route, be sure to consider this rule to avoid an unpleasant situation at the border. Find more useful information and life hacks for travelers in our article: What is the Sinai stamp and what is it for.
