The Sinai stamp allows you to stay in the territory of South Sinai for 15 days. The period is counted inclusively from the arrival date indicated in the stamp.

How to calculate correctly:

  • The day of arrival is the first day.
  • Add 14 days to this date β€” this will be the last, 15th day of your legal stay.
  • You must leave the country no later than this 15th day.

Example: You arrived on the 10th. Your stay expires on the 24th (10 + 14 days). You must depart on the 24th or earlier. If you stay until the 25th, it will be considered a violation of the visa regime.

Important! Dates in Egyptian stamps are often written not with the familiar Arabic numerals, but with Indo-Arabic numerals. To avoid confusion, study in advance what they look like. We explain this in detail in a separate article: Numbers in Egypt for tourists.

If your plans change and you need to stay longer, the stamp can be extended by obtaining a visa on the spot. Read all the details about extension in our full guide: All about the Sinai stamp.
