In Hurghada, there are several full-fledged pedestrian streets completely closed to automobile traffic. Here are the two main ones:

  1. Sherry Street:
    • This is a classic walking street in the very tourist center, not far from Sheraton Street.
    • There are shops, cafes, a confectionery, a bakery, and street fast food here.
    • The atmosphere is more calm and cozy compared to Sheraton, with many local residents.
    • The entrance is marked by a recognizable arch.
  2. El Nasr Avenue pedestrian boulevard:
    • Located in the old El Dahar district, so mainly Egyptians relax here.
    • Beautifully designed: lawns, greenery, benches, a playground, an open-air cinema.
    • Length about 1 km. Completely pedestrian and fenced off from roads.

Also, pedestrian zones can include Marina promenade (a fenced area without cars) and the wide sidewalk on Youssef Afifi Street (although the street itself is drivable, the pedestrian part is separated and very spacious).

We have detailed each of these streets in our comprehensive guide Where to walk in Hurghada.
