Off the coast of Siquijor Island excellent conditions for snorkeling, and you can watch corals and colored fish right off the coast, without having to go by boat. Most of the underwater life lives along the southern coast from Paliton Beach (Paliton Beach on map) to Tabod (Tabod Beach on the map), where the Coral Reef stretches.
The best conditions for snorkeling in protected areas – declared marine reserves. In total, there are several such reserves (see below their position on the map), they are a designated beach area and a soft fence of floats in the water. On the beach you can relax for free, but for snorkeling or diving in this place you need to pay 50 pesos, and swim as much as you like without time limit. The fee is the same everywhere-50 pesos. There you can rent a mask and a tube for 100 pesos, or use your own. In reserves it is forbidden to walk on the bottom, so as not to damage the corals, you can only swim.
Snorkeling is also possible in other areas of the coast and beaches for free, but there marine life suffers from the actions of local fishermen and tourists, so there are a lot of dead corals and few fish.
