Answer (changed )

The main bus station for intercity and international buses in Kuala Lumpur is the modern Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS). Since 2015, the vast majority of buses to other cities in Malaysia, as well as to Singapore and Thailand, depart from here.

The TBS terminal is located in the southern part of the city, quite far from the tourist center (view TBS on the map). It is convenient to get there from the center by public transport:

  • By KLIA Transit train: This is an airport express. You need to board at KL Sentral station and go to Bandar Tasik Selatan (BTS) station. From this station, a covered pedestrian bridge leads to the TBS bus station building. This is the fastest and most comfortable way.
  • By LRT city metro: Ampang/Sri Petaling line to the same Bandar Tasik Selatan station.
  • By KTM Komuter commuter train: Seremban line to Bandar Tasik Selatan station.
  • By bus: City bus number 590 runs from the center (for example, from Puduraya).
TBS bus station in Kuala Lumpur is almost like an airport

TBS is a huge and modern complex with ticket counters, waiting halls, a food court, and shops. It is better to book tickets in advance online, but they can also be purchased on-site at the counters. If you are transferring in Kuala Lumpur, TBS is the ideal place for this.
