TBS (Terminal Bersepadu Selatan) bus station is a modern transport hub that has replaced the outdated Pudu Sentral (PuduRaya) station for most intercity routes. Here are its key advantages:
- Modern infrastructure. TBS is built on the principle of an airport: multiple levels, clean waiting halls, automatic turnstiles for boarding (gates), clear navigation.
- Excellent transport accessibility. The station is integrated with the city metro (LRT), commuter trains (KTM Komuter), and the airport express (KLIA Transit) via the adjacent BTS station. Getting here from any point in the city has become much easier.
- All conveniences for travelers. On-site facilities include: food courts and cafes, ATMs, luggage storage, a mother and child room, an information center, a hotel. There are even two currency exchange offices (open from 7:30 AM to 10:00 PM), although the rates there are not the most favorable.
- Convenient ticket purchase. In addition to regular ticket counters, there are self-service machines and terminals for printing electronic tickets.
- Safety and order. Passenger boarding and alighting occur only through the terminal; one cannot simply exit onto the parking lot. This creates a more controlled and secure environment.
The only exception is that buses to the airport and Genting Highlands resort still depart from PuduRaya and KL Sentral stations. But all major destinations within Malaysia and abroad are now served through TBS.
