How to get from Pattaya to Kanchanaburi on your own?

There is no direct regular transport from Pattaya to Kanchanaburi. There are two main ways to get there on your own:

1. With a transfer in Bangkok: This is the most common option. First, you need to get from Pattaya to one of Bangkok's bus stations (for example, Ekkamai or Mor Chit station), and from there take a direct bus or minivan to Kanchanaburi. The entire journey will take at least 5-6 hours.
2. By direct bus (rare flights): From Rayong (near Pattaya), 2-3 buses depart daily, which also stop in Pattaya. From Kanchanaburi back to Pattaya/Rayong, buses depart at 09:00, 13:00, and 17:30. The journey takes about 4 hours, cost from 240 baht. The schedule may change, so it's better to check and book tickets in advance.
