How much does entry to Ko Lipe cost and how is it paid?

Strictly speaking, there is no entry fee specifically for Ko Lipe island, but there is a fee for access to Tarutao National Park, which includes Ko Lipe island. This fee is charged once upon entry to the national park and the island, for foreigners it is 200 baht. It is paid in cash at the pier upon arrival on the island, you can pay in baht or Malaysian ringgit (70 ringgit) if you arrive from Malaysia. Children get a discount – 100 baht. Local residents pay 40 and 20 baht.

In addition to this fee, you will also need to pay an extra 200 baht for a diving permit. If you are just relaxing on Ko Lipe without diving, or simply snorkeling (swimming with a mask and snorkel), you do not need to pay this extra 200 baht.
