Yes, you can travel by train from Thailand to neighboring countries—Malaysia and Laos. This is a unique and scenic opportunity for travelers.

  • To Malaysia and Singapore: There is international railway service on the southern line. From Bangkok (from Krung Thep Aphiwat or Hua Lamphong stations), you can reach the Malaysian border, and then with transfers—to cities such as Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Malacca, and even to Singapore. This is a long but very interesting journey, passing through the entire Malay Peninsula.
  • To Laos: To get to Vientiane, the capital of Laos, you need to buy a ticket to the final station Nong Khai in northeastern Thailand. The train goes from Bangkok. Nong Khai station is right at the border, near the Friendship Bridge. After crossing the border via the bridge, you can take a taxi or tuk-tuk to Vientiane (about 20 km).

There is also an eastern route—to Aranyaprathet station, from where you can cross the border and reach Siem Reap in Cambodia (to the Angkor temples), but this route is more complicated and usually requires using buses or taxis after the train.

Important: For such international trips, it is necessary to take care of visas in advance (if required) and check the current schedule and ticket availability. Purchasing through 12go.asia is often the easiest option.
