Here are the main USSD codes that will be useful when using a local Thai SIM card (especially popular for the operator Dtac, but they may differ for other operators):

  • *102*9# – Find out your phone number.
  • *101*9# – Check the current balance on your account.
  • *101*1*9# – Check the remaining internet traffic in your package.
  • *4000*9# – Get the login and password to access the Dtac operator's Wi-Fi network (if this option is included in your tariff).
  • *113*30# – Extend the validity of the SIM card for 30 days. Cost: 2 baht.
  • *113*90# – Extend the validity for 90 days. Cost: 6 baht.
  • *113*180# – Extend the validity for 180 days. Cost: 12 baht.

Also, save important emergency service numbers for Thailand in your phone:

  • 191 – Police.
  • 1155 – Tourist police (they speak English).
  • 199 – Fire service.
  • 1554 – Emergency medical assistance.

Codes for extending validity are especially important if you are staying in the country for a long time and do not want your number to be blocked due to inactivity.
