You can get to Ta Van village from the center of Sapa by taxi, rented transport, or on foot as part of trekking. The village is located about 10 km from Sapa.
- By taxi or motorbike: The fastest way. A taxi ride (for example, through apps like Grab or Xanh Sm) will cost about 150,000 Vietnamese dong (approximately $6). You can also rent a motorbike in Sapa.
- On foot (trekking): The most interesting and popular option among active tourists. The classic route passes through picturesque rice fields and the villages of Y Linh Ho and Lao Chai. This path with stops will take about 6-8 hours. This is how most two-day tours with a homestay overnight end.
Important: Public transport (buses) does not go directly to Ta Van village. Also, note that to enter the Muong Hoa Valley, where the village is located, you need to pay a fee of 150,000 dong. Usually, this amount is already included in the cost of organized trekking tours.
If you are walking on your own, after visiting Ta Van, you can either stay there overnight or return to Sapa by taxi. We have compiled a detailed guide on all routes and nuances of independent trekking in a separate article: Guide to trekking in Sapa: how to do it on your own or with tours.
