Getting to Cat Cat Village from the center of Sapa is very easy and can be done independently without a guide. The village is only 1.5 kilometers from the city center.
Here is a step-by-step guide:
- Find the starting point: from the city center, from the main square, start moving along Fansipan Street. There will be signs to Cat Cat Village everywhere, so it's hard to get lost.
- Follow the road: the path is a winding asphalt road that goes downhill. Keep in mind that the return journey will be uphill.
- Find the ticket office: first, you will reach or drive to the ticket kiosk, where you need to buy entrance tickets. There, you will also be given a colorful map with the village route.
- Choose the entrance: from the ticket office, you can go further along the road to the second entrance (entrance No. 2) and start the tour from the other side. This can be convenient if you arrived by transport.
If you are traveling with your own transport (bike or car), you can leave it at the paid parking for 10,000 dong near the first entrance. Or drive further to entrance No. 2, where there is free parking called Parking No1.
The walk from the center of Sapa to the entrance will take about 20-30 minutes. The route is not difficult, but consider that you will first have a descent and then an ascent back with an altitude difference of about 300 meters.
