You can get from Sapa to Ta Phin village on your own in several ways: on foot (trekking), by rented motorbike, by taxi, or with a tour. The village is located about 10 kilometers north of Sapa center.

On the way

1. Trekking on foot (the most interesting option): The route starts in Sapa on Suoi Ho Street (you can reach it from Duong Dien Bien Phu Street via the sign). Then you need to follow trails through Ma Tra Village, rice fields, and mountain streams. Be sure to use a navigator with trail maps (Organic Maps, OSM, or Google Maps). It's better to travel light, taking water, a raincoat, a jacket, and a snack. You can return by taxi.

2. By motorbike or scooter: The road is dirt and poor, with almost no signs, so it's easy to get lost without a navigator. Renting a bike in Sapa is inexpensive, but be careful on the rough road.

3. By taxi: You can take a taxi via the Grab or Xanh Sm apps. The return trip from the village to Sapa will cost about 100,000 dong. Note that just arriving by taxi, visiting the village, and leaving is not the most immersive option.

Tip: The most comprehensive experience is a one-day trek to Ta Phin. You'll get both a walk through beautiful nature and a visit to the village itself. If you get tired, you can always call a taxi directly from the village to return.
