Are there beaches in Hue and where is the best place to stay by the sea?

The city of Hue itself is not located by the sea, but in its vicinity, 15-60 km away, there are several beach locations. If beach vacation is a priority for you, it is better to stay directly at these resorts, not in the city itself.

Main beach areas near Hue:

• Thuan An Beach: The closest option, about 15 km from the center of Hue. Sandy shore, calm sea. Ideal for a half-day trip from the city or for a 1-2 night stay if you want to combine sightseeing and beach vacation. There are several hotels and seafood restaurants.
• Lang Co Beach: Located further, 60 km from Hue, on the way to Da Nang. This is already a full-fledged resort with a long sandy spit and luxurious hotel complexes (e.g., Laguna Lang Co). An excellent choice for a 2-3 day stop for relaxation if you are traveling by car between Hue and Da Nang/Hoi An. Important: as a base for daily excursions around Hue, it is not suitable — too far.

Advantages of beach hotels: Seclusion, private beach, often a higher level of comfort for the same money as in the city.

Main disadvantage: Complete dependence on transport. Without a rented bike or willingness to constantly pay for taxis, you will be isolated. Infrastructure is limited to the hotel and a couple of local establishments, there are no evening entertainment or variety of restaurants.

Conclusion: For beach vacation, it is better to stay directly at Thuan An or Lang Co, but only if you have your own transport or plan to spend all your time there without returning to the city every day.
