Where is the best place to exchange currency in Hoi An?

There are many exchange points in Hoi An, they are in almost every shop and at markets. However, the most favorable rates are usually offered in jewelry stores and workshops located near the central market (Cho Hoi An).

If you need to exchange a small amount (up to $300), you can do it at any convenient place in the center. For exchanging larger amounts (from $1000), it sometimes makes sense to go to Da Nang, where the rates at exchange offices near the central Han market may be even more favorable.

Bank cards (including Russian UnionPay) are accepted in many chain stores and large establishments, but small shops and guesthouses often charge a 3-5% fee for card payments. Mir cards practically do not work anywhere in Hoi An.
