How to get to Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi?

Getting to Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi is quite simple. The square is located about two kilometers west of the tourist district and Hoan Kiem Lake (square on the map). It's important to know that access to the square itself is now only possible through checkpoints (CPPs) with bag checks and a dress code. The CPPs are located on the southern (southern entrance on the map) and northern (northern entrance on the map) sides.

From the tourist center (Hoan Kiem Lake area), you can reach the square in several ways:

• On foot: The walk will take about 30-40 minutes (2.5 km).
• By taxi or via apps: The most convenient option. The trip will cost approximately from 45,000 dong. We recommend ordering through popular apps in Hanoi, such as Grab, Gojek, Be or Xanh SM (electric cars).
• By city bus: An economical way. The fare is from 10,000 dong. Many routes go to the square, but you need to study the map in advance or ask locals.
