Entry to Ba Dinh Square itself in Hanoi is available from 05:00 in the morning until 22:00 in the evening. However, this time only applies to access to the open area of the square. It is important to understand that each attraction located on the square has its own, often very inconvenient, schedule with lunch breaks.

Here are the opening hours of key objects on Ba Dinh Square:

  • Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum: You can enter only in the morning from 07:00 to 11:00 (in fact, entry stops at 10:30). External viewing is available around the clock. It is closed annually for 2 months (September and October) for maintenance.
  • Ho Chi Minh Museum: Operates from 08:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 16:30 without days off. On Mondays and Saturdays, it is open only in the morning (from 08:00 to 12:00).
  • Presidential Palace (museum complex): Open from 08:00 to 11:00 and from 13:30 to 16:00. On Mondays, only the morning session operates (from 08:00 to 11:00).
  • One Pillar Pagoda: Accessible from 07:00 to 18:00.
  • National Monument: Can be viewed during the daytime.

Ideal plan for visiting: Arrive at the square by 7-8 in the morning. First, after queuing, visit the mausoleum (until 10:45), and then, depending on interests, go to the Ho Chi Minh Museum, pagoda, or presidential palace, making it before their lunch break. This way you efficiently use your time and see the maximum.

Remember that besides opening hours, strict security rules apply. You can only enter the square through a checkpoint with inspection, and a dress code applies for entry to the mausoleum and other objects (shorts, tank tops, short skirts are prohibited).
