When visiting the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hanoi, there are strict security and dress code restrictions, as well as limited operating hours. These rules apply not only to the museum itself but also to the entire Ba Dinh Square where it is located.

Main restrictions and rules:

  • Security control - all visitors pass through a checkpoint with baggage inspection
  • Prohibited items - lighters, weapons, pocket knives, and items resembling weapons are not allowed
  • Dress code - tank tops, short shorts, short skirts, and revealing clothing are prohibited
  • No storage facilities - there is nowhere to leave prohibited items
  • Limited operating hours - the museum is closed for lunch break and only operates until 4:30 PM

Important! If you are not dressed according to the dress code, you will have to buy a cover-up from "vendors" at the entrance. The initial price is 200,000 dong, but you can bargain down to 30,000 dong. Free cover-ups are not provided.

Access to Ba Dinh Square is through one of two checkpoints - the northern (on the map) or southern (on the map). Passage through other entrances is not possible.

Consider these restrictions when planning your visit to avoid unpleasant surprises. We recommend dressing modestly and not bringing items that may be perceived as dangerous.
