Is it worth going to the Son Tra Peninsula in Da Nang?

Yes, it is, but with caveats. The Son Tra Peninsula is an excellent place for those who love independent motorcycle trips, beautiful views, and nature. If you know how to ride a motorbike and are willing to rent one for a day, a trip to Son Tra will become one of the bright impressions of Da Nang. You can ride along the serpentine road, visit several observation decks with panoramas of the city and sea, see the famous statue of Guanyin, and relax on sparsely populated beaches.
However, if you do not plan to rent transportation and rely only on walking or taxis, the experience may be blurred. The peninsula is quite large (the length of roads around the perimeter is about 30 km), and it is practically impossible to walk around the key points in a day. Taxis will be expensive, as you will have to make many stops and wait.
The ideal audience for Son Tra: independent travelers on motorbikes, photography enthusiasts, lovers of panoramas and secluded places.
