The museum features one of the most comprehensive exhibitions on Vietnamese history - from ancient times to the present day. Particularly interesting are:
- In the main building - relics from the Paleolithic and Neolithic periods, exhibits from the great empires
- In the additional building - over 40,000 exhibits on modern history, including unique artifacts related to the USSR
Russian-speaking tourists will be particularly interested to see exhibits directly related to the USSR: documents and photographs from communist party congresses, party cards issued by the Communist Party of the USSR, and other historical artifacts.
The exhibition covers events starting from the second half of the 19th century: the beginning of the national liberation movement against the French and up to the construction of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. All exhibits are accompanied by information in Vietnamese, French, and English.
