If you arrive in Manila by an international flight, you can exchange money right at the airport. Unlike most other countries and airports, the exchange rate here is surprisingly very good, even higher than at exchange offices on other islands and resorts. However, from personal experience, we have seen that the exchange rate here varies throughout the day. The fact is that at night only private exchange points operate at the airport, and their rates are slightly lower. But during the day, bank exchange offices open, and their rates are higher. The exchange rate at BDO bank is especially good; they even exchange old series dollar bills from 1996 to 2006, those without a security strip, at the same rate as new ones.

But important! This does not apply to Cebu International Airport; there the rate is noticeably lower than in the city and resorts, so it is better to exchange a minimum amount there.

If you are already in Manila and need to exchange currency, head to the tourist street Mabini Street. We again compared exchange rates during the same day at the airport and at exchange offices on the street, and the rate there was higher. This street is long, but most exchange offices are located on the section closer to Rizal Park, which is here on the map - https://maps.app.goo.gl/yKfTpQzzbwx1YQch6. There, within a couple of hundred meters, there are at least a dozen exchange offices; you can compare rates and choose. In some, you can even bargain and ask for the same or slightly higher rate than the neighboring one if you have a large amount.

But to be fair, if you are coming here from the airport to exchange money and then return to the airport, it does not make much sense, because for amounts up to $1000, the entire difference in exchange will be "eaten up" by the round-trip taxi ride, and you will also waste time.
