There is a misconception that travel for debts can be prohibited only for debts owed to the state. But this is absolutely not the case, and by law it does not matter to whom and how you owe: the bank to which you owe a loan; a neighbor who lent you several tens of thousands of rubles; or a company for installing plastic windows with which you did not pay, etc.: this debt should have been recognized by the court, and you were recognized as a defaulter on it. And then the bailiffs to whom this information is transmitted may well prohibit you from leaving as one of the measures to ensure that you repay them.
But there is an additional condition for the amount of your debts. The amount of debt is regulated by law (federal law "on enforcement proceedings" of 02.10.2007 N 229-FZ), and from October 1, 2017, the ban on traveling abroad can be applied for the following amounts::
- If there is a debt on alimony, compensation for damage to health, compensation for damage in connection with the death of the breadwinner, as well as recovery of property damage and moral damage as a result of a crime – not less than 10,000 rubles.
- For other debts-not less than 30,000 rubles.
This means, for example, that only if you have a debt on a loan or several loans, debt to other persons, taxes, etc.more than 30,000 rubles – you may not be released. And if the amount of debts is less than 30,000, and there are no debts on the first item, then there should be no problems when traveling abroad from the Russian Federation.
