How do tides affect swimming in Pattaya?

In the Gulf of Thailand, where Pattaya is located, tides are very noticeable: the water level difference can reach 3–4 meters. At low tide, the water recedes far from the shore, exposing rocks and muddy bottom — on some beaches (especially on Cosy Beach and Asia Beach) swimming becomes impossible. At high tide, on the contrary, the water comes almost to the sunbed line. Practical tip: plan your beach outing for the morning or evening — at this time the water is usually higher. In the middle of the day (from 12 to 16 hours) a strong low tide often occurs. It is especially important to monitor the schedule if you are with children. The tide schedule can be viewed online — we have placed it in the article.
