How to get to Lopburi from Bangkok on your own?

You can get from Bangkok to Lopburi in two main ways: by train or by bus (minivan). Both options take about 2-3 hours.
? By train: This is the most convenient and cheapest way. Trains depart from Hualamphong and Krung Thep Aphiwat (Bang Sue) stations. There are about 14 trains per day, including commuter and express trains. Ticket prices start from 28 baht. The main advantage is that the railway station is located right in the old town, close to all attractions. At the station, you can even leave your luggage for 10 baht to explore the city light.
? By minivan (bus): Minibuses depart from the MorChit 2 minivan station (next to the main bus station). The fare starts from 140 baht. There are two options: go to the main bus station in the new town (from there, it's 2 km to the old town by songthaew for 10 baht) or to a private bus station right in the center of the old town on Na Sanprakan Street. The second option is more convenient, but departure is as seats fill up.
