The travel time by bus from Penang (from the island or from Butterworth) to Kuala Lumpur is approximately 4–5 hours. Buses depart from Sungai Nibong bus terminal on Penang Island or from Butterworth station on the mainland. All intercity buses arrive at Kuala Lumpur's main bus terminal — Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS).
