Is it possible to pitch a tent in the Ritsa Nature Reserve?

Officially, in the Ritsa National Park, tents can only be set up in specially designated areas. However, in practice, the reserve's administration does not provide clear information about where exactly these places are.

Based on personal experience and reviews from other tourists, tents are pitched in two main locations:

• At the end of the road by Lake Mzy. This is a popular spot with beautiful views. We set up our tent there ourselves.
• Near the Auadhara recreation center. Tent camps can also be found there.

It is important to remember that this is a mountainous area, and it can be very cold at night even in summer. Also, be prepared for cows that may graze nearby and are interested in tourists' food.
