How to get to Koh Lipe from Phuket?

To get from Phuket to Koh Lipe, you can only take a combined route: first a land transfer to the pier, then a ferry. This is the most popular route among tourists. Here are all the options:

1. Ready-made 'door-to-door' transfer (the most convenient)

This is the optimal option, especially if you have luggage. They will organize the entire journey for you:

1. Minibus will pick you up from your hotel in Phuket.
2. Will take you to Pak Bara Pier in Satun province. The journey takes about 3-4 hours.
3. You board a speed ferry to Koh Lipe. The sailing lasts 1.5-2 hours.
4. On Koh Lipe, you will be taken from the ferry to the shore (usually to Pattaya Beach) by a long-tail boat.

Cost: A combined ticket (transfer + ferry) one way costs from 1000 to 1400 baht per person. A round-trip ticket will be cheaper, approximately from 1750 baht.

Where to buy: At any travel agency in Phuket, at the hotel reception, or in advance online on sites like 12go.asia or Trip.com.

2. Independently (cheaper, but more hassle)

You can break the journey into stages:

1. To Pak Bara Pier: Take a taxi or rented car from Phuket to the pier. This is about 250 km and 4 hours of travel.
2. Ferry to Koh Lipe: At the pier itself, buy a ferry ticket from one of the companies (e.g., Bundhaya Speed Boat, Satun Pakbara Speed Boat). It's better to check the schedule on-site or on the carriers' websites. Ferries run several times a day, usually in the morning and afternoon.

Important: When traveling independently, it's harder to coordinate the transfer and ferry times, and there's a risk of being late.
