There are no historical attractions or luxurious Thai temples on Ko Chang. The main locations are natural beauties and tourist entertainment. Here's what you can see and do:

  • Snorkeling and diving: especially popular are tours to neighboring islands, for example, Koh Wai. You can rent equipment or take training.
  • Elephant riding: there are several elephant farms (camps) on the island that offer jungle walks, feeding, and bathing with the animals.
  • Mu Ko Chang National Park: occupies a large part of the island. Here are several waterfalls (Khlong Plu, Than Mayom, and others), hiking trails, and viewpoints. Entry for foreigners is 200 baht.
  • Viewpoints: the most famous are Kai Bae Viewpoint (with a cafe and a mailbox) and a simple viewpoint on White Sand Beach.
  • Fishing villages: Bang Bao β€” here there is a long pier, a market, a lighthouse, and seafood restaurants. The village in Salak Phet β€” a place for dinner with a view of the bay.
  • Mangrove forests: in several places on the island, there are equipped pedestrian walkways over the water for walks among mangrove trees (for example, near Salak Kok Lake).
  • Chao Por Koh Chang Temple: one of the few temples on the island, executed in a Chinese-Thai style.
  • Entertainment: rope park Tree Top Adventure Park, kayak and SUP board rentals on the beaches, evening street Kai Bae Walking Street with bars.

Important: Do not expect great diversity of attractions from Ko Chang. This is a place for a calm beach holiday with elements of nature. Experienced travelers are unlikely to be surprised by the island, but for a first acquaintance with Thailand or Southeast Asia, its opportunities are enough for a week.

Excursions and tours to all these locations can be easily found in street travel agencies or hotels. Prices are approximately the same everywhere. For independent trips, it is most convenient to rent a motorbike (from 150 baht/day) or use songthaews (shared taxis).
