How to pay for a hotel on Trip.com if the card does not go through?

If your card does not go through when paying for a hotel on Trip.com, do not cancel the booking! There are several working ways to solve this problem:

  1. Use payment via SBP (QR code). This is the most modern and reliable method. When choosing a payment method, find the option "Fast Payment System" or similar, scan the QR code through your bank's app and confirm the payment.
  2. Try another card. Take a card from another Russian bank (not Sberbank), preferably Mastercard or Visa, issued before 2022. Cards from T-Bank, VTB, Sovcombank often help.
  3. Change the platform for payment. If you paid through a browser on a computer, try doing the same through the official Trip.com mobile app, or vice versa.
  4. Check settings and currency.
    • In your bank's app, make sure that online payments are allowed for the card.
    • During payment on Trip.com, try changing the currency to Russian rubles.
  5. Choose another hotel. In very rare cases, a specific hotel may set its own restrictions on the types of cards accepted. Try looking for a similar accommodation option.
