TrainsSite trip.com has become a real salvation for travelers after the termination of the operation of international hotel search and booking sites Booking, Agoda and airline sites with Russian bank cards. Now on Tripcom it is really possible to book and pay for hotels abroad and buy tickets of foreign airlines with Russian cards. Moreover, they accept not only Mir, but also other cards of Russian banks.
However, it is often possible to read in the reviews of tourists that nothing works on Trip Coma and Russian cards are not accepted. Sometimes the participants of our tourist chats. They say that they receive either an error when entering card data, or the message "Payment failed":

What to do if your card is not accepted on trip.com
In fairness, it should be said that problems with the reception of some cards do arise. On the site itself trip.com. There is no specific information about the requirements for bank cards, and contacting support does not help in this case. But the problem is solvable, and that's what we managed to find out from our own experience of booking on this site:
Which Russian cards are accepted for Trp.com
- ✓ It doesn't matter if it's a debit or credit card: we have successfully processed payments from both types.
- ✓ Not only Mir cards are accepted for payment, but also previously issued Russian Mastercard and Visa. For example, we made the last booking with a Mastercard T-Bank card (issued by Tinkoff Bank until 2022). Before that, they paid for tickets with the Mir card of the bank of the Russian Standard.
- ❌ Sberbank's Mir cards are no longer accepted. In 2023, it was still possible to pay with them, but now even the status "Payment failed" hangs on the Savings Bank cards previously linked in the personal account. We tried different cards with different expiration dates, nothing works.
- ❌ Do not accept Unionpay cards. They don't accept it at all, they can't even enter her payment number.
What exactly to do if the payment fails
- Try another card from another Russian bank, not necessarily the Mir card, taking into account what we wrote above.
- Try making payments through the app, not the site, and vice versa. Sometimes, for some reason, it works, no matter how absurd it sounds.
- Change the payment currency in the app/website to rubles.
- Disable VPN if you are making a payment from Russia.
- Enable a VPN with a Russian IP address if you are making a payment from abroad.
- Try to enable or disable 3D-Secure in the card settings, or in another way "Confirmation of online purchases by SMS code". This is set up through the app or through the support service (chat).
If none of this has helped, there is no other card, and you need to buy a ticket or book a hotel urgently, then use Russian alternatives:
