How to get from Hanoi to Sapa?

You can get from Hanoi to Sapa in several ways, and the most popular is the night bus or minivan. The journey is not short, but very scenic upon arrival.

• Night bus/sleeper bus: This is the most common and budget-friendly option. Buses with sleeping berths (semi-reclining seats) depart in the evening from Hanoi (often from the Old Quarter area) and arrive in Sapa early in the morning. The journey takes approximately 5-6 hours. This allows you to save on a hotel night and time. Tickets can be purchased online on sites like 12go.asia or through hostels/hotels.
• Minivan (van): A faster and more comfortable option than a large bus. Minivans also depart in the evening or at night and take the same 5-6 hours. There are fewer seats, so it's better to book in advance.
