How to get from Hanoi airport to the center cheaply and conveniently?

From Noi Bai Airport (HAN) to the center of Hanoi, there are three main ways: taxi, express bus, and regular city bus. The choice depends on your budget and amount of luggage.

1. Express bus No. 86 – the best balance of price and comfort. It goes directly to the railway station and Hoan Kiem Lake (stop opposite the Melia Hotel). The journey takes about 50 minutes, cost 45,000 dong. The buses are modern, with air conditioning and luggage space.
2. City bus No. 17 – the cheapest option. Costs only 15,000 dong, but takes longer (about 90 minutes), makes many stops, and can be crowded. The final stop is Long Bien bus station, from where you need to take a taxi to the tourist area.
3. Taxi (Grab or official airport taxi) – the most convenient way, especially with luggage or in a group. A trip to the Old Quarter will cost 250,000 – 300,000 dong and take 40-60 minutes depending on traffic. To avoid inflated prices, order a car through the Grab app.
