In 2026, the following goods for personal use are allowed to be imported into Vietnam without paying customs duty:
- Up to 200 cigarettes, or 20 cigars, or 250 grams of tobacco.
- Up to 2 liters of alcohol with a strength of up to 20%, or 1.5 liters of strong alcohol, or up to 3 liters of low-alcohol beverages or beer. If one bottle exceeds the norm by no more than 1 liter, it can also be brought in duty-free.
- Up to 5 kg of tea and up to 3 kg of coffee.
- Other goods for personal consumption with a total value not exceeding 10,000,000 Vietnamese dong (approximately 30,639 rubles at the exchange rate at the beginning of 2026).
Important innovation: from January 1, 2025, Vietnam has a complete ban on the production, sale, transportation, use, and advertising of any types of electronic cigarettes. Their import into the country is prohibited.
Alcohol and tobacco products can only be imported by persons over 18 years of age. Remember that alcohol purchased in duty-free is added to what you have in your luggage. Household electronics (laptop, camera) for personal use usually do not need to be declared, but if you are concerned, you can do so for free.
