Do Russians need a visa to travel to Vietnam in 2026?

For a tourist trip to Vietnam for up to 15 days, a visa is not required for Russian citizens. This rule applies provided that at least 30 days pass between two visits to the country. This visa-free regime is very convenient for short vacations.

If you plan to stay in Vietnam for more than 15 days, then a visa must be obtained in advance. This can be done in two main ways:

1. Obtain a visa approval letter online. This is the most popular and fastest method. You receive an official invitation via email, print it out, bring two photos with you, fill out a form upon arrival, and get the visa directly at the Vietnam airport, paying a fee (about $25).
2. Contact the Vietnam Consulate in Russia to get a visa stamped in your passport.

Also, for entry, you will need a passport valid for at least 6 months from the end of your trip, and return tickets, which may be requested at passport control.
