You can see all the main attractions of Negombo in just one day. The city is not rich in interesting places, but there are several locations worth visiting to get acquainted with the local flavor.

You can see all of Negombo in 1 day. Download the points from our map to your smartphone, and set off on our route:

  • Start the day early in the morning with a trip to the Old Fish Market.
  • From the Old Market, you can walk to the New Market, where the Dutch Fort is also located.
  • Take a walk through the center, visit the temples, stop by local shops and markets on Main street.
  • By tuk-tuk or taxi, go see the significant Buddhist Angurukaramulla Temple.
  • At the intersection of Main street with the Negombo canal in the center, descend to the path along the Negombo canal and take a stroll with a view of the old houses and fishermen's huts of the locals.
  • Here you can also hire a boat for a ride along the canals, but it's not necessary.
  • On foot or by tuk-tuk, return to the tourist area and end the day with dinner at a seafood restaurant with a sunset view.
