Dutch Fort in Negombo - a historical landmark, of which only the gates, part of the walls, and a tower remain. It was built in 1672 and almost completely destroyed in the 19th century for the construction of a prison, the gates of which are located right behind the preserved entrance. What you see in the photo is all that can be seen here. The remains of the fort are maintained by prisoners.
