There aren't too many attractions in Vung Tau, but there are several interesting places worth visiting. The main attractions can be seen in 2-3 days.

TOP attractions in Vung Tau:

  • Statue of Jesus Christ - the tallest statue of Jesus in Southeast Asia with viewing platforms on the mountain
  • Hon Ba Island and Temple - a must-visit place in Vung Tau
  • Vung Tau Hai Dang Lighthouse - offers stunning views of the city and coast
  • White Villa Blanche (BαΊ‘ch Dinh) - a historical building from the French colonial period
  • House of Pure Nirvana (Niet Ban Tinh Xa) - perhaps the most interesting temple in Vung Tau
  • Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province Museum - an interesting place, but left a mixed impression
  • Robert Taylor Weapons Museum - from samurai swords to Kalashnikov rifles

The city also has several Buddhist temples and pagodas, a city park, an amusement park on the mountain with a cable car. However, after visiting the first few temples, everything may seem monotonous.

For sightseeing, you can use taxis via Grab and Xanh SM apps, rent a motorbike or bicycle, and if you have time, take walking tours. Hiking enthusiasts will be interested in Nui Lon (Big Mountain) and Nui Nho (Small Mountain), where the main attractions are located.

There aren't many excursions from Vung Tau, mainly trips to Ho Chi Minh City, Cu Chi Tunnels, Con Dao Island, and the Mekong Delta are offered, but all are expensive and in the form of private tours.
