In Bangkok, there are several beautiful parks for walking that allow you to relax from the city hustle. Lumpini Park is the oldest and largest park in the city with an area of 57 hectares. Here, there are two lakes with boat rental options, running and cycling paths, sports fields, a swimming pool, and even monitor lizards and turtles live here.
Benjakitti Park is a more modern park with a large lake, fountains, and beautiful views of skyscrapers. Here, there are bicycle and catamaran rentals, sports fields, and special bridge-like paths over the canals. Interestingly, from Lumpini Park, you can reach Benjakitti via a pedestrian bridge path that is 1.3 km long.
Both parks operate from early morning until 9:00 PM, and entry is free. In the parks, mass exercises, artist performances, and cultural events are regularly held. These are excellent places for morning runs, family recreation, or simply quiet walks in the shade of trees.
The parks are especially valuable because they are located in the city center and are easily accessible by public transport. They offer a rare opportunity for Bangkok to be in nature without leaving the city limits.
