In Bali, electronic wallets such as GoPay and OVO are popular, allowing you to pay for purchases in stores, taxi services, tours, and even transport rentals through QRIS system QR codes. GoPay is the most convenient option for tourists, as it can be registered with a Russian phone number, and the app interface is available in English.

To start using GoPay, install the app, register, and upgrade to GoPay Plus by uploading a passport photo and providing your hotel address in Indonesia. Verification takes up to 24 hours. After that, you can pay for almost everything, including supermarkets, cafes, and online purchases. However, cash withdrawals at ATMs are not available for tourists.

Topping up the wallet is most profitable through cryptocurrency exchanges, for example, by exchanging USDT for rupiah. The exchange rate on P2P platforms, such as ByBit, is often 3–5% more favorable than exchanging cash dollars. If you are not familiar with cryptocurrency, study the instructions in advance to avoid mistakes.
